Maternity

Pregnancy is truly one of the most beautiful things in life. I love photographing pregnant women and their partners, because there is so much love for this human being that hasn’t even been born yet. They say, once you have kids, time goes by at lightning speed. I think it all starts at pregnancy. Nine long months can not come to an end fast enough when you are anxious to meet your baby, but when it is all over, you will never get that time back. All we have are the memories of the beginning. I want to capture those memories for you, so they will live on forever through photographs.

The ideal time for your maternity portraits is around 32-35 weeks. You will probably want to book your session around 28-29 weeks to reserve your spot. Feel free to bring your partner or children. (up to 4 individuals) While I will try to incorporate family members into the photographs, the spotlight is on Mom and the belly. I aim to capture the bond between Mother and child that no one else will ever experience.

Newborns

After a long nine months, you are suddenly thrown into parenthood. It can be an amazing and stressful time for anyone. Be sure to enquire about your newborn session before your little one arrives, to reserve your spot for after the birth. Ideal time is around 6-10 days. After 2 weeks, newborns lose their womb-like characteristics. Or course, it is never too late to book your newborn session, but 6-10 days after birth is ideal.

Family Portraits

When I ask anyone how long it has been since they had a family picture taken, most of the time the response I get is “way too long!”  Let me capture your family at their best! I love to do family sessions outdoors, because I love the natural look. I love to let kids run free, and capture them in a natural, fun setting. Of course,  my studio is always available, but who doesn’t like to get out for some fresh air?

For your family session, I suggest wearing plain shirts and jeans or slacks. Things like stripes, designs and logos can be distracting in a picture. Hats, sunglasses, and bulky jewelry are also not recommended. If you need guidance on clothing, feel free to ask!
